Description
OSP Nichika 167F – the natural hybrid swimbait for trophy predators
The OSP Nichika 167F is an innovative hybrid swimbait that combines the advantages of a hardbait with the natural movement of a soft bait. While the head is made of robust hard material, only the soft tail works, with an extremely natural and discreet action.
Thanks to the well-thought-out design, the lure’s buoyancy can be adjusted easily, so the Nichika 167F adapts flexibly to a wide variety of fishing situations. Its range of use extends from extremely slow to fast lure guidance – always with a convincingly natural running behaviour.
Natural running behaviour with maximum catch rate
With slow, steady lure guidance the Nichika 167F runs just above the predators’ field of view. The lure stays almost perfectly horizontal in the water while only the paddle tail works evenly from side to side. The front body follows this movement with a fine, lively wobble – without exaggerated or unnatural actions.
The result is the perfect imitation of a relaxed swimming baitfish that senses no danger at all.
Especially in heavily fished waters, where trophy perch or other predators already know numerous lures, the Nichika 167F plays out its strengths. Its natural appearance combined with a nevertheless strong presence often triggers the decisive bite even from suspicious fish.
There are situations in which exactly this lure catches fish that no longer respond to other lures.
Application:
Dead-stick (letting the lure sit)
A particularly successful technique in clear waters. Thanks to its size the lure has enough presence without appearing unnaturally intrusive. Even cautious big perch can often be tempted to bite this way.
Without additional weight the lure floats at the surface. With the supplied 3.5 g weight the lure can also be presented calmly on the bottom.
Steady retrieve
The Nichika 167F creates the perfect illusion of a naturally swimming baitfish. Only the tail works with a fine lateral movement, creating an extremely realistic running pattern. This subtle action never looks exaggerated and provokes even cautious followers to bite.
The lure works reliably with:
extremely slow lure guidance
medium speed
fast guidance
The running depth can be regulated easily via the additional weight used.
Recommended equipment
Rod: baitcasting rod, approx. 7 ft, power MH to H
Line: 14–20 lb fluorocarbon
Hooks: Hayabusa Ken Claw (#2 front / #3 rear)
Storage notes
After fishing, the special connecting pin should be removed and the hard head and soft tail stored separately in the original packaging. With permanent contact between hard and soft material, chemical reactions can cause fine stress cracks in the head. Despite careful quality control, OSP recommends this storage to ensure the lure’s lifespan permanently.
