Description

OSP DORAN 127F – next-generation gill baits

The OSP DORAN 127F is an innovative bluegill hybrid lure that combines the strong attraction of a hardbait with the natural, supple properties of a softbait.

Its well-thought-out hybrid concept enables exceptional versatility and numerous presentation options. At the same time the soft rear body makes it easier for the lure to be sucked in on the bite – a decisive advantage over many conventional bluegill hardbaits.

The DORAN 127F can be adapted to the behaviour of the fish right at the water – from surface presentation through mid-range fishing to targeted sight fishing on the bottom.

Versatile presentation options

If the snap is attached to the nose eye, the DORAN 127F is suited to classic surface techniques such as dead sticking, extremely slow retrieves, I-shape retrieves and steady retrieves.

If the snap is attached to the side eye of the body instead, the action changes fundamentally. The flat body bites into the water and produces a pronounced “Yoko-Yoko” sideways movement in which the lure swims sideways through the water.

In addition, the sink rate can be adjusted individually with the supplied weights. The weight is inserted into the provided seat at the lower end of the lip. This lets the lure be configured, depending on the situation, from a slow-sinking to a fast-sinking model.

The small lip also opens up interesting hang-off techniques. The lure can be “hung up” on individual submerged branches or structures to fish particularly attractive spots and provoke a strike.

Soft body for better hook-up rates

The natural rear softbait body not only provides a particularly realistic movement, but at the same time solves a well-known problem of many bluegill hardbaits: because of their relatively large and rigid body, bass often find it hard to inhale them completely.

On the bite the soft body folds together, so the bass can suck the lure in much deeper. This improves the hook-up rate and allows more reliable fights.

5 effective applications:

1. Surface dead sticking, I-shape & dead slow retrieve

A particularly effective technique in the post-spawn phase, when bluegills are often close to the water surface.

The realistic profile and the naturally working tail imitate a real bluegill and can tempt even hesitant bass to strike.

2. Surface “Yoko-Yoko” action

By attaching the snap to the side eye, the flat body uses water resistance and creates a strong sideways swimming movement with high attraction.

This technique is particularly effective along overhanging vegetation, rock walls, sheet piling and other bank structures.

By gently bumping the head against obstacles, a bluegill can be imitated that is panicking and trying to escape along the bank edge.

3. High-speed stop & go

With the additional 2.0 g weight the DORAN 127F becomes a slow-sinking lure.

With a high-ratio reel, the lure is accelerated by 2–3 fast turns of the handle and then stopped.

This creates an aggressive, lightning-fast flash movement that is particularly characteristic of lures with a large profile.

The fast pace gives the bass hardly any time to inspect the lure closely – the bite often comes instinctively.

4. Mid-range “Yoko-Yoko” action

With the side snap position and additional weight, the Yoko-Yoko action can also be used at mid depths.

This makes it possible to reach areas that are hard to fish with classic surface lures – for example deep under overhangs, jetties or docks.

It is precisely there that large, undisturbed bass can often be surprised.

5. Bottom sight fishing

With the 3.5 g weight the DORAN 127F becomes a fast-sinking model.

The lure can be placed deliberately on the bottom in front of a passing bass. There it imitates a vulnerable bluegill or carp-type fish that represents easy prey.

The combination of natural softbait texture and the voluminous profile often provokes aggressive, downward-directed bites.

For this presentation the belly treble can be removed and a size #4 treble mounted on the side eye. This clearly reduces the risk of snags and at the same time improves the hook-up rate for this specific technique.

OSP DORAN 127F – one lure, countless possibilities

The DORAN 127F combines the presence of a bluegill hardbait with the natural mobility and soft body of a softbait. Thanks to the variable rigging and the ability to adjust the sink rate right at the water, it can be matched to the widest range of conditions and fish behaviour.

Surface, mid-water, structure or bottom – the DORAN 127F opens up a completely new dimension of bluegill fishing.
