The Bantam is low profile baitcasting reel with a serious attitude! The Coresolid body is made from ultra strong aluminium and has remarkable rigidly, giving the assured feeling of a 'round' profile reel, with the ergonomic design and usability of a baitcaster. You will almost certainly know the Bantam name, it’s been around for over 40 years and has a loyal following with lure anglers who want no-nonsense, solid performance. The reel looks clean and powerful, is easy to pair with just about any mid or high-end Shimano rod, and fits smoothly into the hand making palming very easy and comfortable. You’ll certainly notice the great casting performance and can’t fail to be impressed with the powerful fish-playing performance that is the hallmark of the Bantam name. The latest version of the Bantam benefits from a lightweight MGL III Spool and SVS Infinity breaking, which is further enhanced by Silent Tune and Super Free Spool. Lures of just about any size can be safely launched remarkable distances and the breaking can be instantly adjusted using the external dial to accommodate different lure sizes or conditions. But it is the retrieve and fish-playing performance where the Bantam really excels. The combination of Micromodule Gear and Infinity Drive give a super-smooth directness, even when cranking at fast speeds, and combined with the rigidity of the Coresolid Body enable maximum power to be transferred from the handle to the fish when the heat is really on. And don’t worry about the lack of stretch if you use braided line. The Cross Carbon Drag makes sure the drag is smooth, powerful and always reliable, even when you ask the most demanding of questions.

HAGANE

HAGANE is a Shimano reel design concept created to withstand continual use and extreme abuse. HAGANE is an innovation with built-in toughness and durability that works alongside Shimano's precision engineering. HAGANE is for all anglers.

MICROMODULE

The MicroModule Gear technology creates a smooth retrieve by utilizing smaller teeth to increase the number of contact points between the drive gear and pinion gear.

HAGANE BODY

The HAGANE Body is a metal reel body with high rigidity. The body rigidity and impact resistance virtually eliminate body flexing on the reel while fighting a fish. The result transforms the angler's actions directly into cranking power,

INFINITYDRIVE

INFINITYDRIVE technology is an advanced structure that produces lower friction and lighter winding. Pinion gear is supported by the spool shaft instead of the pinion gear bearing on the spool side. Rotational resistance of the gear section has been reduced without compromising gear strength,

MGL SPOOLⅢ

MGL Spool III is the low inertia spool that desined with thin spool wall keeping the durability, This contribute to improve the casting performance, quick response, long distance, cast feeling and castabillity.

CORESOLID BODY

CoreSolid Body integrates the B-Side Plate, levelwind guard and frame into a solid one-piece construction. This delivers an ridid feeling.

SILENT TUNE

By applying slight pressure to the bearing holding the spool, SilentTune reduces the vibration of the bearing during high-speed rotation. This improves the quietness while casting and the rise of the spool rotation becomes even smoother.

SVS∞

SVS Infinity, provides easy-to-manage, consistent spool control and brake force. With brake weights that use inner friction against the raceway during the cast, SVS Infinity controls spool speed for precision casting. The external adjustment knob provides for quick, precise adjustments when anglers need to adjust to the conditions or when they switch baits.

S3D

S3D SPOOL leads to significantly reduced spool vibration. This creates an smooth feeling when casting.

S A-RB

S A-RB bearings are put through the same process as Shimano’s A-RB bearings but feature shields on both sides of the bearings. These shields reduce the possibility of salt or sand inhibiting the rotation of the bearing.

SUPER FREE SPOOL

SUPER FREE SPOOL reduces friction on the spool shaft during the cast and enhances casting performance.
