Description
NEW Daiwa 24 Luvias LT
The new Luvias takes the concept of the super-light reel to a new level: in its latest version it goes beyond the concept of lightness and combines featherweight with unrivalled mechanical performance.
The new Luvias has always been a prime example of lightness, but now it goes one step further with the new construction concept known as Airdrive Design. Through the comprehensive redesign of the rotor (Airdrive Rotor), spool (Airdrive Spool), shaft (Airdrive Shaft) and bail (Airdrive Bail), the weight of the new Luvias could be reduced significantly: in size 2500 the weight dropped from 175 to 150 grams compared with the previous model.
The complete redesign of these construction elements led not only to improved lightness, but also to optimised smoothness and noticeably more supple handling. By minimising the rotational inertia of the rotor, the Luvias now reacts even faster at the first load on the handle and during stop-and-go while retrieving. This considerably increases the precision with which the desired movements are transferred to the lure when spinning.
Another important innovation of the new Luvias is the ATD-L drag, a further development of the proven progressive ATD drag. This new drag offers an even softer response and becomes progressively firmer as load increases, in order to bring the fish in safely. This reduces the load on the line, which makes fishing with fine leaders easier and safer.
In sizes 2000 and 2500 S the drag is now set to a maximum resistance of 5 kg (compared with 10 kg on the old 2500 model), which leads to even more sensitivity and precision in finesse techniques.
Tight lines!
