Reel technology made in Japan

As part of the Magnumlite series, you can be sure that the Miravel is packed with advanced technology that makes fishing even more efficient and enjoyable. The Miravel has a G-FREE body made of CI4+ composite, which is remarkably light and well balanced even in the larger sizes. And as with all Magnumlite reels, the lightness of rotation almost defies logic, as only minimal pressure is needed to set the rotor in motion. That makes it the perfect reel for advanced lure fishing, especially in combination with the latest lightweight rods.

HAGANE GEAR

The HAGANE gearing is made with Shimano’s cold-forging technology – without additional machining. This production process leads to lasting smoothness, lightness and performance at the heart of the reel. Traditional die-cast housings are considerably more prone to mechanical wear under load.

X-SHIP

The X-Ship gearing is the combination of technical refinements and enables effective power transmission. By positioning the pinion gear close to the centre of the large drive gear, power can be transmitted better from the handle to the rotor. For stabilisation the pinion gear is supported on both sides by two high-quality Shimano ball bearings.

SILENTDRIVE

Gear noise and handle play have been eliminated, raising smoothness to a new level.

MAGNUMLITE ROTOR

The Magnumlite rotor is an ultra-light rotor made of Ci4+ material. The profile design of the rotor is asymmetric, and the bail-arm mechanism, which is usually on the same side as the line roller, has been moved to the opposite side. Both changes clearly improve the balance. Rotor rigidity at the line roller has also been improved: this reduces twisting under maximum pressure by up to 30%. The line roller is also made of lightweight material, the bail is made of titanium and overall rotor rigidity has been optimised. All this leads to a lighter rotor, improved balance and reduces rotational inertia by 14%.

COREPROTECT

The concept of CoreProtect is quite simple – to ensure water resistance without creating strong rotational resistance.

G FREE BODY

The newly developed housing technology shifts the reel’s centre of gravity closer to the rod by moving the worm-shaft oscillation shaft 19 mm from the bottom to the top of the reel. By bringing the centre of gravity closer to the angler’s hand position, the G Free housing counteracts fatigue and allows more dynamic casting.

AR-C SPOOL

Thanks to the patented spool design with the V-shaped spool lip, the line leaves the spool in smaller, tighter coils, allowing longer and more accurate casts with less backlash.

CI4+

Ci4+ is the further development of the revolutionary material Ci4. It is 2.5 times harder than Ci4 and thus allows reels to be built with extremely tight tolerances and precision internal parts to be manufactured with the precision of a Swiss watch movement.
