Ryugi Hover Shot FG – Fine Guard Hook

Finesse meets weed protection

The Ryugi Hover Shot Fine Guard Hook is the weedless further development of the popular Ryugi Hover Shot Hook. Equipped with two finely adjustable fine-wire weed guards, it offers reliable protection against snags – ideal with heavy weed growth, high fishing pressure or on competition days when classic presentations fail.

Perfect control in mid-water:

Thanks to its construction the hook allows a horizontal presentation in the water column – without getting caught in weed, wood or other obstacles. Combined with an ultra-light rod, fine line, a small nail sinker and a slim finesse swimbait, a hovering effect is created that convinces even wary predators.

The special worm holder in the middle of the hook secures the lure firmly, while the 90° line tie is positioned perfectly above the lure’s nose. The extremely smooth TC Teflon coating ensures a frictionless and precise hook-set – even with minimal pressure.

New possibilities with the Fine Guard:

Thanks to the weed guards, the Hover Shot can now also be used close to structure or in the middle of a weed field – a real advantage over the classic model. Whether with insect patterns, worm presentations or in hovering action – the Hover Shot FG shows its strengths everywhere.

Ideal for the HobbaSting technique:

The technique known as HobbaSting allows worm lures to be guided through the middle water layer – without any tangles. This weedless rig makes the Hover Shot FG particularly effective for precisely working structure such as piles, jetties or sunken trees.

Finely adjustable weed guards

The strength of the guard can be adjusted individually:
The further the tip sits from the guard, the stronger the protection.
The closer, the more flexibly and sensitively the hook reacts.

Note: repeated bending or reshaping of the wire guards can impair their stability. Avoid excessive manipulation to prevent breakage or pulling out.
